Our Chandeleur Islands Fishing Charters

This is personalized fishing at its best. We have at least two experienced guides on your trip to make sure you are fishing in productive areas. You are also welcome to take a skiff out on your own to explore every inch of the Chandeleur Islands and the adjacent waters. You might want to cross over to the east side of the Chandeleurs for some surf fishing or beach combing.

In the winter, the ponds and sloughs in the Chandeleurs are productive for big trout and reds. Wildlife and birds abound throughout the Chandeleur Islands. Birding is particularly good during the migration periods in spring and fall. Keep your eyes open for peregrine falcons.

The standard Chandeleur fishing charter includes three days of fishing. We can also create a custom fishing trip to match your interests to the time you have available. We use 16′ extra wide, unsinkable Mississippi and Louisiana Skiffs with well maintained 25-hp Yamaha outboards to give you the most comfortable and versatile means to fish. Depending on the tides and your preferences, you can wade fish, surf fish or drift fish. The Chandeleur Guide Fishing crew cleans and packages your catch for you.

You’ll stay aboard The Creperie our custom built Chandeleur Islands houseboat with plenty of room to move to stretch out your arms and legs. In addition to the outdoor grilling area and a fish cleaning station, there is a huge screened in porch and four covered porches to sit about and tell all the fishing stories.

The galley has plenty of rooms for the largest fishing party at mealtimes and it’s also a comfortable place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack. The best view in the Gulf of Mexico and the Chandeleur Islands is yours on the big second floor deck of the Creperie. You can see the most beautiful sunsets in the Southern USA here.

There’s a 360-degree view that extends for miles and miles across the islands, Chandeleur Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a fine place to relax in the evening and swap stories about the day’s fishing. A stay on The Creperie is definitely not about roughing it.

Electric power is provided by solar power. The galley and sleeping quarters are fully air conditioned during warm weather. There is a pressurized hot and cold water system with a hot tub, showers in the bathrooms and flush toilets. Bunk space is provided for up to 10 guests in addition to the Chandeleur Guide Fishing crew.

You definitely won’t find finer food anywhere in the South and there are few places ashore that match our cooking. We don’t cut corners and you’ll not be disappointed. We can honor any reasonable dietary requests you have, but please let us know in plenty of time before your trip.
